Chief Judge Hershey is struggling to hold her city together, even with the help of top-grade Judges like Giant and Joyce. In a petrified forest in the Cursed Earth, Dredd and his team discover that the mutants who have been sabotaging the city's supplies are led by a giant named Thorn, who is about twelve feet tall and armed with a huge cleaver.

Synopsis for "The Fall of Deadworld (part 3)"[]
Luke is bitten by a snake which Pastor Moses Dodge and his merry band of religious maniacs own for the purpose of killing sinners (i.e. everybody). Judge Fairfax's foul-mouthed Lawrider, Byke, provides a distraction which enables Fairfax and the farmers to fight the cult. They win, and in the mêlée John knocks Fairfax out as a punishment for hitting him in the previous episode. The farmers leave Fairfax's unconscious body and drive off in the cultists' bus to try and find anti-venom for Luke. Meanwhile, a fresh Judge is tainted by dead fluids and becomes Sister Psiren.

- The return of Black Shuck is advertised in the Nerve Centre.
- Despite what is shown on the cover, Thorn doesn't kill any Judges in the first story. The only full Judges on the mission to stop him are Dredd and Rico, and they are both alive in the next prog.
