Sláine remembers how he fell in love with Niamh, who was promised to King Grudnew. He had to run away from his tribe and come to a land where the Drune Lords use the Earth's magical power for evil. Now Ukko has bought a broch (prison tower) from a man called Scenb, who shows them round and introduces them to the warden, Nudd.
