Comic Cuts
Amalgamated Press Ltd. was a newspaper and magazine publishing company founded by Alfred Harmsworth in 1901 which published numerous successful comic titles, including Harmsworth's previously established titles Comic Cuts, Illustrated Chips, Playbox and the Funny Wonder, and the later Knockout, School Friend, Girl's Crystal and Puck. Based at Fleetway House in London from 1912, the company was bought by the Mirror Group (publishers of the Daily Mirror) in 1959 and renamed Fleetway. It later acquired several other publishing companies and formed the International Publishing Corporation (IPC) in 1963.
