Brainstorm Comix, published by Alchemy Publications from 1975-1978, was one of the last British underground comics. The majority of the content was created by Bryan Talbot (whose cult character Luther Arkwright debuted in a short story in Brainstorm) with publisher Lee Harris admitting that his principal reason for putting the title out in the first place was Talbot having approached him with the first chapter of his drug-fuelled strip Chester P. Hackenbush, the Psychedelic Alchemist. The series lasted six issues (though they were not actually numbered 1-6; there were two issue #3s and two issue #1s, for a start, with the second issue #1 being released after the second issue #3, which was actually the fourth issue published). It was edited by Mal Burns.
