History[]

Captain Skank is a character from the 2000 AD ship Judge Dredd. He was a mutant cyborg pirate based in a sea fortress beneath the polluted Black Atlantic, somewhere in the Cuban wastes. His hobby was abducting scientists and his goal was to rebuild his fortress' defunct nuclear weapons with the help of kidnapped "nuke boffin" Jenno Matryx.

Captain Skank had a scurvy crew of mutie pirates under him, whom he managed with the help of his second in command, Tuskarosa the Vicious. He had no qualms about killing any of his men who displeased him. Skank's contact with reality was somewhat tenuous, leading him to believe that a mutant octopus the size of a football stadium was his mother. To give him his due, he was a loving and dutiful son, and kept his mother happy with regular meals of raw scientist.

After Captain Skank launched nuclear weapons at Mega-City One, killing four million people, he himself was killed by a team led by Judge Dredd. It emerged that he had actually been a robot controlled by a Judge from East-Meg One.

A version of Captain Skank from a parallel universe invaded Mega-City One via dimension warp technology in the Garth Ennis story 'Helter Skelter', along with various other baddies such as a parallel universe copy of Judge Caligula. Dredd punched him so hard in the face that he died. Caligula's response was, "Oops-a-daisy! Goodbye, sailor!"
