History[]
The individual known as the Toymaker is apparently a creature of vast powers whose existence predates that of the current universe. Various claims have been made about him, including that he was one of the Elder Gods. Whatever the case, millennia ago the Toymaker (who for some reason chooses to appear as a middle-aged white male dressed as a Chinese mandarin) became bored with his infinite existence and turned to playing games for his own amusement. He kidnaps beings from the wider universe and draws them into his realm, the Celestial Toyroom, where he challenges them to contests with their lives and freedom as the prize. Very few people have ever won one of his games since, while the Toymaker is bound by the rules he sets for them, he makes these rules fiendishly difficult and is not above neglecting to mention them until it is advantageous to him to do so.
He has clashed with the Time Lord known as The Doctor on more than one occasion. During one meeting, with his Toyroom starting to break down because of its age, the Toymaker coerced the Doctor into helping him since he was apparently terrified of finding himself in "a cosmos with no walls." The Doctor built him a new Toyroom with technology from his TARDIS and cast him adrift in space.
Powers and abilities[]
Powers
Incalculable, mostly uncatalogued, though his influence appears not to extend much beyond his Toyroom.
