History[]
Colin Doobrey-Smiff yearned to be a soldier and a hero, but was too thick to get into the British Army. Instead, he was stuck living at home with his parents, but Colin was undeterred and lived a life brimming with heroism, adventure and lethal weapons, aided by his trusty sidekick Semi-Automatic Steve, battling villains such as Madprof and Doctor Nasty. After a final battle with arch-foe Megabrain, Colin and Steve decided to throw away their weapons and live a peaceful life, but one of the weapons they discarded, a nuclear bomb, exploded and seemingly killed them. It was later revealed that the bomb had actually hurled them back in time to Blackpool in 1967.

Notes[]
Originally created for Marvel UK in 1987, Combat Colin appeared as a back-up strip in Action Force and, later, Transformers. In 1991, Marvel UK decided to stop publishing humour material and gave the rights to Colin to his creator, Lew Stringer, who has since used him in several small press titles and fanzines.
