Dan Dare was a test pilot from 1950, who was accidentally thrown through a time warp to 1994, caused by a Treen scout ship. He joined Spacefleet and rose to the rank of Colonel.

- When Dare was revived for the revamped Eagle, he was given a new origin to tie in with a proposed TV series which never materialized (the original Eagle's Dan Dare was not a time traveller).
- Like the original, this Dare was accompanied by a loyal aide named Digby.
