History[]
Bill King was a reporter for the Daily Scene, and widely regarded as the clumsiest man in Fleet Street. Unknown to his colleagues and to his editor, Mr. Vance though, Bill's clumsiness was an act concealing his double life as the "ace crook catcher" King Cobra, armed with a variety of high tech gimmicks built into his frankly ridiculous costume! King Cobra had a lengthy career in the 1970s in which he faced everything from racehorse kidnappers to a murderous dwarf, but he's been surprisingly low profile in recent years...
Successors
In 2013, two different accounts showed his current status. In both, he has a successor. In one, published in Strip Magazine, a new King Cobra is fighting crime.[1] In the other, published in the digital Dandy, he's a member of Retro Unit, group of legendary heroes who appear in the Retro Active story. He's the mentor to a new hero named Cobra.[2]
