History
Edit
Ken King was a champion wrestler (originally a boxer) who travelled the world with his manager Tim 'Blarney' Stone, practicing his craft in the most bizarre locations. Along the way, he frequently became involved in a variety of improbable adventures and fought a parade of bizarre opponents. At one point, King gained a new manager in the improbably named Ballyhoo Barnes, who had Ken crowned as the King of the derelict island of Tzania as a publicity stunt (while he himself searched for a fabled treasure reputedly buried there), but Ken soon went back to working for 'Blarney Stone'. He eventually ended up a millionaire and opened a school for young wrestlers, including the boy chieftain of a lost tribe of South American Indians.
Notes
Edit
Ken's change of manager was apparently a decision made to inject some more humour into the strip, but readers didn't warm to Ballyhoo Barnes so 'Blarney' Stone was reinstated by popular demand.
