History[]
Malcolm is a character from the 2000 AD strip Bad Company. He was a member of the renegade military group known as Bad Company, led by the mysterious Kano. Malcolm was a fairly fresh recruit to the squad when Danny Franks and the other raws were forced into joining Bad Company, and he formed a strong friendship with Franks.
Malcolm proved to be one of the most empathic members of Bad Company. This was shown by his friendly nature towards Danny, Trucker and Mac, and the interest he expressed in Danny's writing. When the alien known as Gobber died he carried his body in his arms, seemingly being the only one to care about his now deceased team mate.
Malcolm and Danny watched out for one another during their fight against the Krool. However, during one raid, Malcolm shoved Danny away from the blast of a Krool shell, the shrapnel of which hit Malcolm in the head, killing him. Distraught, Danny buried him with the help of Trucker.
Several weeks afterwards, Malcolm's body rose from its grave as one of the many War Zombies brought to life through Krool science. in his zombified and now decaying form, Malclom encountered Danny at a human base and attacked him. Danny attempted to get through to him, and deep in Malcolm's eyes Franks believed he saw some kind of recognition before the zombie was killed for a second time, being shot to pieces by Mac.
Years later, a spirit of Malcolm appeared on the ghost planet-being that Kano was living on. Malcolm showed up alongside Thrax, Mad Tommy, Flytrap, Joe Scummer and Stitches. Malcolm's spirit died yet again after being hit by a bomb set off by the Frankenstein Corps.
