Marvel Action was a weekly title launched by Marvel UK on 1st April 1981, and ran for just 15 issues until 8th July the same year. The title (which gave away free gifts in the first three issues; a Fantastic Four sticker in #1, a Thor sticker in #2 and a Doctor Strange sticker in #3) featured reprints of the American Marvel Thor, Doctor Strange and Fantastic Four strips from the titles of the same name. Following #15, Marvel Action was 'merged' with Captain America, the title of which temporarily (and rather confusingly) changed to 'Marvel Action starring Captain America'. Marvel Action's letters page introduced the long running humour strip Earth 33 1/3 by Tim Quinn and Dicky Howett.
