Art from Creeping Things by Pete Venters

Plagues of Necropolis was a Biblically themed series of six one-off stories by writer Si Spencer, which ran in Judge Dredd Megazine issues #2.78 to #2.83 in 1995, all of them set during the Judge Dredd epic Necropolis, in which Mega-City One is dominated by the Dark Judges. The six stories, Sleeping Enemy, Creeping Things, That Perfect Skin, The Reign of Fear, Blood and Some Passed Over, were all written by Spencer but drawn by artists largely new to the worlds of Dredd and 2000 AD; they were, respectively, Jim O'Ready (who drew both the first and last installments), Pete Venters, Simon Davis, Stuart Mack and Jim Vickers. Unfortunately, in the event, most of these artists were not to further their involvement with either 2000 AD or the Megazine. The stories were eventually collected together in January 2015 in Plagues of Necropolis Vol 1 1, which was given away free with Judge Dredd Megazine #355 as a kind of teaser for the Dark Judges long awaited return in 2000 AD in the story Dark Justice.
