Brian Walker's 'Scream Inn' was a longtime favourite of Shiver and Shake (and later, following a merger, Whoopee!) readers, set in a hotel run by ghosts which offered a million quid to any guest who managed to stay an entire night (no-one ever did). Readers were invited to suggest guests who could stay at the Inn, with any suggestion used winning the lucky reader one pound. Regular characters included the Innkeeper, Bertie Bedsheet, Dennis the Devil, Suffering Sam, Boneypart, Cookie and Grotty Dotty. Notable guests included fellow Whoopee! star Evil Eye and Brian Walker himself! Several of the characters later featured in successor strip The Spooktacular 7.
