Cheeky's Snail was his constant companion throughout the run of Cheeky Weekly, and eventually had a fairly long running back page strip of his own in 'Snail of the Century', by Cheeky's regular artist Frank McDiarmid. He never got a name though, despite a readers competition to choose one for him.
