History[]

Tegan Jovanka was a mouthy Australian air stewardess who accidentally wandered into the life of the time traveller known as The Doctor when her Aunt Vanessa's car broke down on the Barnet bypass and she mistook the TARDIS for a genuine police phone box and entered it in search of assistance.

With her aunt murdered by The Master, Tegan's new life as a time/space traveller got off to a bad start and she basically spent the next several years with the Doctor complaining about her lot in life. At one point, after several months of trying, he actually managed to get her back home to Heathrow Airport, but she soon rejoined the TARDIS crew in order to have something else to complain about (though she did seem to share a close friendship with fellow traveller Nyssa).

Tegan eventually returned to Earth after an encounter with the Daleks left her feeling that life with the Doctor was no longer fun. Tegan was last reported to be back in Australia fighting for the rights of the Aborigines.
