The Doctor is a Time Lord from the planet of Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasterborus. A restless soul, somewhere near the end of his first incarnation, he became frustrated by the Time Lords' policy of passive observation of the universe, stole a defective Type 40 TT Capsule (a 'TARDIS') that was in for repair, and went out into the universe to explore it for himself. He has been travelling ever since, often with a variety of companions such as his granddaughter Susan, Sarah Jane Smith, Sharon Davies and Maxwell Edison, battling some of the most evil would-be conquerers in existence (including the Daleks, the Cybermen, the Kleptons and the Trods, the Time Witch and Beep the Meep), making allies such as the United Nations Intelligence Taskforce, Kroton the Cyberman, Abslom Daak, Dalek Killer, the Free-Fall Warriors, Death's Head, Ivan Asimoff, the Wrarth Warriors and the shadow man Shayde, and just generally living for the moment. He is now apparently the last of his race following the events of the 'last great Time War'.
Powers and AbilitiesEdit
AbilitiesIf mortally wounded, the Doctor can 'regenerate' his physical form, literally becoming a new man. He is currently on his 11th incarnation. He has two hearts, a respiratory bypass system, can enter a death like coma at will while his body repairs injuries at an accelerated rate, and can survive unprotected in space for up to six minutes.
The Doctor once claimed that an Aspirin could kill him.
Type 40 TARDIS TT Capsule.
The Doctor is the lead character (though not the 'title character'; 'Who' is not his name) in the television show, comic strip and all round multimedia franchise Doctor Who.
