History

The Doctor's ninth incarnation was an often brusque, sometimes nervy individual. Traumatised by his experiences in the Time War, he nonetheless retained an innate optimism and love of life, despite choosing Rose Tyler and Captain Jack Harkness as companions. Also, he had a Mancunian accent, which is the best accent. (Lots of planets have a North.)

The Ninth Doctor was probably the only Doctor who would have nutted a Dalek to death if it looked at him funny.

Powers and abilities

Sonic screwdriver; psychic paper.

TARDIS time capsule.

Doesn't believe in them. He turned the fifty-first century weapons factory at Villengard into a banana grove (he likes bananas. Bananas are good).

Notes

The Ninth Doctor had the shortest run in comics of any incarnation so far, appearing in just nine monthly issues of Doctor Who Magazine (#355 to 363) and the 2006 Doctor Who Annual, all of which were reprinted in Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor Collected Comics Vol 1 1. He has since resurfaced in a limited series from Titan Comics.

Trivia

The Ninth Doctor's era in Doctor Who Magazine is the only one drawn by a single artist (Mike Collins) throughout.
