The Perils of Pauline was an adventure strip which ran in IPC's predominantly humourous title Jackpot in 1980. Lead character Pauline Pearson inherited posh (but extremely stingy; the kids ate stale bread and dripping) private school Barnaby Grange, where she was a pupil, but was constantly in danger from one of the ten teachers at the school who repeatedly tried to kill her, much to the disbelief of everyone else on the premises. Each episode contained a hidden clue which gave Pauline (and the readers) another hint as to the identity of the would-be murderer.
