Wardog was the leader of the Special Executive, a group of dimension-hopping, time-travelling parahuman mercenaries who may or may not have originated in the universe of the Time Lords and The Doctor. Wardog, a laconic werewolf-like individual, lost his left arm in a conflict with the Order of the Black Sun while in the employ of the Time Lords many centuries ago and had a bionic replacement fitted. He and his comrades remained in the Time Lords' employ for some years, but eventually struck out in new directions, being hired by the disgraced Omniversal Majestrix Saturnyne to kidnap Captain Britain and bring him to speak at her trial.
The Special Executive aided a reluctant Captain Britain in freeing Saturnyne and resided for a while at his home, Braddock Manor on Earth, until some of their number were killed and Wardog's bionic arm destroyed in a battle with The Fury, an extradimensional killing machine. After this, Wardog decided that the Manor was too dangerous and abandoned Captain Britain and Saturnyne to their fates, declaring that his first responsibility was to his team.
